When does your business need a website?

Signs your business needs a website, what it should include and how it differs from having only social media.

Social media and a website are not the same

Social media is great for talking with customers, but the space isn’t yours: the algorithm decides who sees your posts, and the format limits how you present your business.

A website is your own space online. It shows up on Google when someone searches for what you offer, explains your services in detail and conveys the credibility of an established company.

Signs your business needs a website

  • Customers keep asking you for the same information.
  • You want to show up on Google when people search for your service in your area.
  • You work with other companies that check your site before hiring you.
  • Your competitors are already online and you are not.
  • You need an email address on your own domain and a more professional image.

What a good website should include

  • What your company does and for whom, explained in seconds.
  • Your services or products, with clear information.
  • Visible contact options: form, WhatsApp, email and location.
  • A mobile-friendly design, since most visits happen on phones.
  • Fast load times and an SEO-ready technical foundation.

One-page site or full website

If you are just starting out or promoting a single service, a one-page site (landing page) may be enough. If you offer several services, serve different audiences or want to rank in search engines, a site with one page per service is a better fit.
